Travelling from Nadi Airport to the Mamanuca Islands normally requires two connected journeys: a ground transfer from the airport to the correct jetty, followed by a boat transfer to your resort. Planning both parts together helps avoid the most common arrival-day problems.

How the Nadi Airport to Mamanuca Islands journey works
- Land at Nadi International Airport and complete immigration, baggage collection and customs.
- Meet your confirmed driver for the private ground transfer.
- Travel to the departure point stated in your booking.
- Meet the boat crew and load your declared luggage.
- Continue by boat to the selected Mamanuca Island resort.
Rare Fiji Adventures private water taxi services use Naisoso Jetty in Nadi. Do not automatically ask a driver for Port Denarau: many scheduled ferries and cruises depart there, but our private resort transfer departure point is different. Always follow the final meeting information issued for your booking.
First check whether your resort needs a boat
Denarau, Wailoaloa, Nadi, Momi Bay, Natadola and Coral Coast resorts are on Viti Levu and can be reached by road. Mamanuca Island resorts require a boat, ferry, helicopter or another resort-approved connection.

Information to provide before your arrival
- Your international or domestic flight number.
- Scheduled arrival date and time.
- Full resort name, because similarly named properties may be in different locations.
- Number of adults and children travelling.
- Number and size of suitcases.
- Any pram, wheelchair, surfboard or oversized equipment.
- A reachable phone or WhatsApp number for travel-day updates.
Flight details help the team understand your arrival plan, but your preferred boat time still requires local confirmation. Immigration queues, baggage delays, road conditions, vessel availability, resort access and safe sea conditions can all affect the final schedule.

Planning the return journey
A return trip is a separate travel leg and should have its own resort departure date and time. Work backwards from your flight check-in requirement and allow for the boat journey, unloading, the ground transfer and airport processing. The local team will confirm what is operationally realistic for the requested date.
Weather and confirmation
Private boat transfers depend on safe operating conditions. The skipper may adjust, delay, reroute, reschedule or cancel a journey when sea conditions, tides, visibility or resort access are unsuitable. Keep your contact details active and check messages before travelling to the jetty.
