What happens at Tifajek Mud Pool?

Your visit begins with the mud-wrap experience: coat your skin in natural mud, allow it to dry, rinse in the mud bath and relax in the warm spring pools. The setting is rustic and community-based rather than a resort spa, so the focus is the outdoor setting and the experience itself. Allow about two to three hours at the venue if you want time to enjoy the pools, take photos and unwind.

Tifajek is not the same operator as the neighbouring Sabeto Mud Pool attraction. Both are in the wider Sabeto area, but your taxi or driver should know which specific entrance you have booked.

How much is Tifajek entry?

Rare Fiji Adventures offers Tifajek entry tickets for FJ$40 per paying person. The admission covers access to the attraction and the mud-wrap, mud-pool and hot-spring experiences. Spa Plus massages are optional, as are hotel transfers. Any children’s or infant concessions must be confirmed before purchase; do not assume entry for children is complimentary.

Optional Tifajek Spa Plus treatments

For a more leisurely visit, guests can choose one of two packages arranged with the venue. The treatments are provided by women from the local community, with professional spa training described by the venue’s management.

  • Spa Plus 45 minutes — FJ$85 per guest. A foot soak and massage, followed by lemon leaves and honey iced tea.
  • Spa Plus 75 minutes — FJ$150 per guest. A foot soak and full-body massage, with lemon leaves and honey iced tea.

Choose your preferred massage when arranging the booking. Treatment capacity is subject to confirmation, especially for larger groups who want massages at the same time.

How to get to Tifajek from Nadi and Denarau

Tifajek is on Wailoko Road, Sabeto, near Nadi. You can arrange your own transport or request a return hotel collection. Rare Fiji Adventures offers a booking choice for Nadi Town, Nadi Airport-area hotels, Namaka, Martintar, Wailoaloa and Denarau Island. Pickup times are preferences and are confirmed according to hotel location and driver availability.

Travelling from Lautoka, Vuda, Sonaisali, Momi Bay, Natadola or a Coral Coast resort? Ask for a transfer quote first so road time and the vehicle fare can be calculated for your actual resort.

For more planning help, see the Fiji Transfer Guides & Resort Connections hub. If you’re deciding between venues, compare with our Sabeto mud pool entry ticket or Sabeto tour with return transfers.

What to wear and bring

  • Swimwear: choose something comfortable for the mud-wrap and pools.
  • Towel and change of clothes: facilities are practical, and dry clothes are useful afterwards.
  • Sandals or slip-on footwear: useful on wet or muddy surfaces.
  • Water and sun protection: Fiji can be warm, especially around midday.
  • Contact details: keep your hotel name and tour-day WhatsApp number handy if you booked transport.

If you’re travelling with small children, are pregnant, have mobility limitations or have concerns about heat exposure, ask in advance about suitability and access conditions. Hot springs can be very warm; follow the venue’s instructions and limit your time in the water if you feel uncomfortable.

Suggested visit plan

For visitors staying around Nadi, consider a morning booking to leave the afternoon free for another activity. A later visit may suit people who want a relaxed start. With a return hotel transfer, your exact departure from the hotel depends on the location; arrive at the designated lobby or meeting point before the confirmed time. Allow extra time when combining Tifajek with another booking or flight.
